As Suicide Prevention Month comes to an end, I’m spending my afternoon with mental health advocates at PRS, which answers many of the 988 calls from Virginia. I’ll always fight for resources for mental health, including a recent announcement of $2.6 mil for crisis hotlines in VA.
To close out #WomenInMedicine month we spotlight Dr. Dana Albon. Dr. Albon is an exceptional physician and advocate for her patients. She has shown leadership in telemedicine care in her patient population, which has led to several publications!

The VA Dept of Emergency Management is closely monitoring potential weather impacts to Virginia as Hurricane Ian continues to travel along the east coast this weekend. Please use caution and be prepared as we expect heavy rains & potential flash flooding over parts of the state.
It was great to be back today at the Northern Virginia Aging Network’s 23rd Annual Legislative Breakfast in-person for the 1st time since 2019! This well-attended event is always a wonderful opportunity to hear NVAN’s priorities & how the legislature can support our seniors.
